What is Visual Clonezilla?

Visual Clonezilla is a package created by Acronus Software and it is a partition and disk imaging/cloning program similar to Norton Ghost® and it has Clonezilla embed. It helps you to do system deployment, bare metal backup and recovery. Two types of Visual Clonezilla are available, ARecover Live and AClone Server (server edition).

ARecover Live is suitable for single machine backup and restore and it include multicast capability. While AClone Server can be use to recover booting by PXE or used as a image storage (recover image by Nfs => unicast, broacast and multicast).

ARecover Live and AClone Server have the multicast capability and it is for massive deployment, it can clone many (40 plus!) computers simultaneously. Visual Clonezilla saves and restores only used blocks in the harddisk. This increases the clone efficiency. At the Senac Classroom (with PC and Mac Os), ARecover Live USB and AClone Server was used to clone 30 computers simultaneously. It took only about 47 minutes to clone a 140 GBytes system image to all 30 computers via multicasting!
